Indeed, we are currently deep in the era of convergence which has resulted in blurred and diminishing lines that used to separate computing from telecommunications technologies and applications. A hand-phone today possesses about as much as computing capability as telephony functions. Similarly, today’s mobile computing devices are not complete without sufficient communications functionality. These are just a rudimentary examples, of course.
